Open Source Code for Sage CRM

Did you know that CRM Together (Sage CRM Development gurus) has an Open Source Code sharing program for Sage CRM

At My CRM Manager, we use the WYSIWYG field within our internal Sage CRM instance for managing Cases. For different client projects, we have used the CRMSignature code and the Rapid Item Picker (sometimes referred to as Quick Line Entry).  And loads of partners (including us) use the Sage300-charts-in-crm code to make the Sage 300 CRM integration more meaningful.

So, beyond publishing Accelerator, MobileX, and 365, CRM Together does a lot to give back to the global CRM community. If your company develops Sage CRM, you should definitely check it out.

New 100/300 partner page

More and more Sage 100/300 partners are leveraging us as a Sage CRM resource. Not just for sales calls/demos but also for webinars (Eide Bailly, CS3, Asyma ++) and web-site content.  Also, our new Sage CRM explainer video is appearing on partner websites.

We have a new 1-pager that outlines the Sage CRM sales and marketing help we can provide to Sage partners. Please take a look: Sage Accounting Partners – My CRM Manager

In a perfect world (for Sage CRM and me), more partners would bring me in to demo Sage CRM and the integration to 100 or 300 whenever they are pitching the accounting system. Demoing Sage CRM is easy for us, and it typically helps improve the 100 partner’s chances for the sale. Over the past 60-days, we have done this for 6 different Sage 100 partners.

Sage 100 CRM Comparing both Options

What is the difference between Sage’s integration with 100 and Greytrix’s? While there is overlap, they are very different by design and once you understand the differences, it becomes very clear why Greytrix’s GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM is becoming the obvious choice for so many organizations.

Sage’s free integration essentially allows the user to launch Sage 100 screens while inside Sage CRM. However, this requires the CRM user to have Sage 100 on their machine. And it only works inside the LAN.

In contrast, Greytrix’s GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM integration is a server-level integration so CRM users anywhere can use the integration from Sage CRM’s web-accessible interface.

The 3-minute video below compares the two and clarifies why My CRM Manager strongly recommends the GUMU™ option.

PDI Software Partnership with MCM

PDI Software has announced a partnership with My CRM Manager to support their Sage CRM installations.

In 2018, PDI acquired DM2, a Sage 100 partner with a focus on the oil and gas industry. DM2 had a thriving CRM practice and was the leading reseller of Greytrix’s GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM integration

This is a big deal for My CRM Manager, as it adds strength to the message in the North American Sage community that they are the best option for Sage CRM support.

For PDI, the partnership means happier clients.

Recent Enhancements to the GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM

Greytrix’s GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM integration continues to evolve. The image below reflects some relatively minor (but meaningful) changes that we rolled out in October.

  1. The Sage 100 data block is collapsable
  2. New calculation field showing the % change between this year and last year sales
  3. New calculation field showing the % change between sales last year and the prior year (to accommodate COVID)
  4. New LLYTD field (to accommodate COVID)
  5. New field reflecting all of the unpaid invoices
  6. New field reflecting the total sum of those unpaid invoices

View the Sage 100 page of the My CRM Manager website for a full breakdown of the GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM integration.

Sage CRM Administrator – is this necessary?

Our standard MO is to strongly recommend that clients have a designated internal ‘Point Person’ to help with training and support issues. We take a train-the-trainer approach and this point person is the trainer. A full breakdown of this role is found on this page and also referenced in the video on our Planning for a CRM project page.

Back to the topic – is having such a person necessary?

Yes, and the better the individual the more successful your strategy will be. CRM projects can be massively successful, meh or worse. You can avoid adoption issues to a great degree by making the system unavoidable (read more) but still, massive success requires adequate support systems and your point person is generally a key ingredient of those support systems.

Sage 500 CRM

Greytrix publishes an integration with Sage 500. It uses the same GUMU architecture as Greytrix’s integrations with 100, X3, and Intacct.  And while it does not have the same depth as the Sage 100 integration, it is pretty good, providing for customer integration AND the ability to create Orders from Sage CRM’s web-accessible interface that can be promoted directly into Sage 500’s Order Module.

Ian McFarlan

Over the past 18-months (since COVID started), My CRM Manager has gone deep into improving our website and web presence. This has included rebranding, re-doing the website, and creating oodles of content.

Ian McFarlan (www.mcfarlan.ca) has been instrumental in facilitating this change. In the video below, Ian goes over his process. I strongly working with Ian. He is the best.

Note – Ian has been our website person for the past 7 years. The big turning point in our relationship was when I asked him ‘what he would do if he were me‘. Glad I asked.

Centra CRM’s new Image Gallery utility makes it super easy to view images from Sage CRM. For organizations that use images in their day-to-day, this add-on makes Sage CRM even more practical.

Quick Start Implementation SUCCESS!

Earlier this summer we started promoting a Quick Start Implementation Package for Sage CRM. The idea being, instead of getting CRM doing absolutely everything the client needs upfront, let’s get them up and running quickly and then work on modifications after. This does not apply in every situation, but it sure is a practical approach for many organizations.

It is one of those things where… it is obvious now, but why did it take us so long to have this offering (a-duh). It is going really well. Definitely, it will evolve, but it is clearly (now) an important offer to have for many of the companies that approach us.

You can learn more about the Quick Start Implementation Package by (a) calling me, or (b) visiting the Quick Start page on the My CRM Manager website.
